Founder of ERISAdiagnostics, Ms. Andersen: CEBS,ERPA,QPA, has over 25 years of successful benefits consulting and administration experience. She is recognized as an executive whose leadership style is effective and pragmatic with a strong ERISA technical background and excellent people and project management skills. Throughout her career she has successfully proven herself to be a consultant who carefully assesses client situations and provides services tailored to each client.
Ms. Andersen’s experience spans both corporate and consulting, having worked at small and large corporations directly and in a consulting capacity with many Fortune 500 organizations. Ms. Andersen built a consulting department of 70 professionals who provided consulting services to the clients of a major financial institution. In addition, she introduced new services (QDRO and hardship determination) and revamped the 401(k) nondiscrimination testing services. Ms. Andersen spent 12 years at Coopers & Lybrand, now known as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where she was jointly responsible for developing and building a national compliance review practice.
Ms. Andersen is a Contributing Editor for the Pension Plan Fix-It Handbook published by the Thompson Publishing Group, Inc. Ms. Andersen has been a frequent speaker on compliance related issues, Form 5500 at ISCEBS and WEB local chapter meetings and at the ISCEBS Annual Symposium. She has spoken at the Mid-Sized Pension Conference and also participated in the plenary forum at the session. Ms. Andersen was an instructor for the ISCEBS program and the College of Insurance in New York and served on the Board of the ASPA Benefits Council of the Delaware Valley. She is the past president of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of ISCEBS. She has also published several articles on benefits related topics.
Ms. Andersen is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a BS in Math. She is also a ISCEBS fellow and member of the charter class; she has also attained the Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA) and Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) designations.
John P. Griffin, J.D. and LL.M. (Taxation), has over 25 years experience in the employee benefits field. Currently, John is a principal with the ASC Institute (ASCi). Prior to joining ASCi, John was a principal with the pension consulting firm Global Benefit Advisors, LLC (GBA), a Vice President with Pension Publications of Denver, Inc. (PPD) and a senior consultant with the benefit consulting practice of Coopers & Lybrand.
Prior to entering private consulting, John worked in the Employee Plans Division in the National Office of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a Tax Law Specialist. John also has seven years of experience with the U.S. Department of Labor.
Ms. Borzelli, Esq. is a partner with the law firm of Steiker, Fischer, Edwards, & Greenapple P.C. (SFE&G). She provides advice and counsel to employers throughout the country. Ms. Borzelli’s practice focuses on the complex tax, labor and employment law issues that arise in the design, implementation, operation and administration of health and welfare plans, qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, and executive compensation arrangements including equity-based plans and employment agreements. She advises clients on benefit issues arising from mergers, acquisitions, shutdowns, and bankruptcies; and on defending ERISA claims and litigation brought against employers, including Department of Labor and IRS audits, inquiries and disputes.
In Addition, Ms. Borzelli advises clients on the development of corporate compliance practices and fiduciary duties with respect to compensation programs. In particular, she is recognized for her expertise in advising the Boards of tax-exempt, non-profit organization in meeting their special responsibilities under federal tax law when establishing and awarding compensation packages to employees, trustees and directors, and related parties.
She received her B.S. (with highest honors), MBA and JD degrees from Rutgers University.
She is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association (Member, Tax Section), New York Employees Benefits Group, and the American Association of Housing and Services for the Aging. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, The U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Tax court.
